Recording of event from Sunday 6th March now available. The work of Khwendo Kor was the focus of an online event called ‘Celebrating Women’s Empowerment and Creativity’ as part of the MACFEST Muslim Women’s International Festival (https://macfest.org.uk). It looked at the ways in which KK supports rural women in developing and maintaining their handicraft skills in, and marketing of, mazri goods, embroidery and more as part of their mission to enable women to live with dignity and self-reliance.

York members of FROK raised £1,000 in their events as part of York International Women’s Week. Thank you!
We held a fascinating online event from 1-3pm on Saturday 20th November entitled ‘Women. Education and Pakistan: a conversation with Qaisra Shahraz followed by a conversation with Khwendo Kor staff’. Almost 40 people attended from around the world. There is a report of it in our newsletter (No 2 2021) on our publications page. Thanks to all who took part!

We recently held two very successful events as part of York International Women’s Week 2021. We have now launched the film that we made jointly with Khwendo Kor – FILM AND FOOD WITH ‘FROK’ – SHARING WOMEN’S PANDEMIC EXPERIENCES FROM YORK AND NW PAKISTAN.

FROK is delighted to announce that Khwendo Kor has now been granted a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Economic Affairs Division of the Government of Pakistan. This is a huge achievement. Congratulations to KK for all their hard work and perseverance!
